What is Digital Identity?

Your Digital Identity makes it quicker and easier for you to prove who you when accessing government services online. Once you create a Digital Identity with an accredited identity provider, you can use it prove your identity on different government online services.

Linking your ABN to your Digital Identity

To manage your business matters, such as apply for tax registrations, you will need to link your Australian business number (ABN) to your Digital Identity. You can link your ABN to your Digital Identity using the Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).

Additional logins

You can use eligible online or 'cloud' accounting, bookkeeping or payroll software to process certain government tax forms.

Please note: the login options above are for specific tax paperwork. You'll still need to use your Digital Identity to:

  • manage business name details or renewals
  • submit tax forms through 'SBR-enabled' accounting, bookkeeping or payroll desktop software.

Find out more about the online or 'cloud' software service on the ATO website.
